How NearPro protects you

Every booking on NearPro comes with real protections — not just a promise. Here's exactly how it works.

Your payment is protected

When your pro accepts your booking, your card is authorized and the funds sit securely with NearPro — not charged yet, and not with the pro.

The pro does the job, then marks it complete in their dashboard — which requires uploading an after-photo first. That's the moment the money actually moves to them, the same way a delivery app pays a courier once they mark an order delivered.

If something's wrong with the work, contact us within 24 hours — we'll investigate using the before-and-after photos and messages from the job, and can refund you or claw back the pro's payout if your claim checks out.

Every pro is verified before they ever see your address

Before a pro can accept a single job on NearPro, our team reviews their application, including:

  • Their identity, with government-issued ID
  • Background information they provide, reviewed by our team before they're approved
  • Minimum $300,000 to $500,000 general liability insurance depending on service type, with NearPro named as additional insured
  • Trade license, for pest control and pool pros
  • A signed contractor agreement, before their very first job

A verified ID, a signed contractor agreement, and sign-off from our team are non-negotiable — a pro can't go live on NearPro without them. Insurance and background-check details are collected and reviewed as part of every application; on rare occasions a newly-approved pro may take their first jobs while a final insurance certificate is still being confirmed, always within a short window we track closely.

Before and after photos on every job

Every pro is required to upload an after-photo through the platform before they can mark a job complete — it's what actually triggers their payment being released, not just a formality. We hold onto these as a record of the work that was actually done.

If you ever raise a concern about a job, we review the photos before making any decision — so disputes get resolved with evidence, not guesswork.

If something goes wrong

Here's exactly what happens if you're not happy with a job:

  1. 1Contact NearPro within 24 hours of the job being marked complete
  2. 2We review the before/after photos and any messages from the job
  3. 3We make a decision within 48 hours
  4. 4If your claim is valid, your payment is withheld or refunded
  5. 5If the failure was genuine, the pro is warned or removed from the platform

Pro insurance

Every pro on NearPro is required to carry a minimum $300,000 to $500,000 general liability insurance depending on service type, with NearPro named as an additional insured — verified directly from their certificate of insurance.

Look for the "Insured" badge on a pro's profile to confirm their coverage has been verified before you book. If there's genuine property damage during a job with a verified pro, their insurance covers it.
